What Sets Us Apart?
Why Hyperbaric Safety Matters
At Swanson Hyperbarics, we recognize that trust is earned through transparency, preparation, and action. That’s why we go above and beyond standard requirements to ensure every patient is cared for in an environment of exceptional clinical oversight.
Our facility is staffed by experienced professionals, including Certified Hyperbaric Technologists and a physician with over 30 years of medical practice. We follow the National Fire Protection Association guidelines for Hyperbaric Facilities. We follow strict operational protocols, perform detailed safety checks, and tailor each treatment to the individual needs of the patient — all to minimize risk and maximize healing.
Ultimately, our approach to safety isn’t just about avoiding problems — it’s about creating an environment where patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. Your health and peace of mind are our top priorities every step of the way.
Our Safety Standards
Expert Technicians. Proven Standards.
At Swanson Hyperbarics, your safety is in the hands of true professionals. We have three Certified Hyperbaric Technologists (CHTs) on staff — the highest level of operational expertise in hyperbaric medicine. Each CHT undergoes over 560 hours of specialized training, supervised clinical experience, and passes a rigorous national certification exam. All three are also each an NFPA (National Fire Prevention Association) recognized Safety Director. They remain chamber-side during every session to ensure your comfort and safety from start to finish.
Our care is further guided by a Medical Director with 30+ years of medical experience, who oversees every treatment plan. This expert-led team ensures that every session meets — and exceeds — national safety standards, giving you peace of mind with every visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is HBO Medicine safe for children or seniors?
What happens if I feel discomfort during my treatment?
It’s common for some patients to experience temporary ear pressure, similar to what you might feel during airplane takeoff. Our staff will walk you through simple techniques to help equalize pressure and stay comfortable. If you feel any discomfort at all, an expert is at your side the entire time and can pause or adjust the session immediately. Your safety and comfort always come first.
Can I bring my phone, book, or other personal items into the chamber?
Due to the oxygen-rich environment, personal items are not allowed inside the chamber unless they’ve been approved by our staff. Electronic devices, books, and clothing with metal or synthetic materials may pose a safety risk. However, we provide approved garments and will explain what’s permitted before each session. Many patients find the experience relaxing — a great time for quiet reflection or rest.
What kind of training do your technicians have?
Our team includes Certified Hyperbaric Technologists (CHTs) — the highest operational certification in the field. CHTs complete more than 560 hours of training, hands-on clinical work, and national board exams. They are qualified to handle all aspects of chamber safety and patient care and remain at your side during the entire treatment. Our Medical Director, with 30+ years of clinical experience, also oversees every treatment plan to ensure top-tier medical supervision.
