You’ve probably heard about the HOCATT or read about it on our website. But it’s hard to fully grasp what it is and what it can do in just a single page. This space allows for a more in-depth description of how the HOCATT works and the many benefits it provides.
First, it’s important to know what the acronym ‘HOCATT’ stands for. HOCATT is an abbreviation for Hyperthermic Ozone & Carbonic Acid Transdermal Technology. That’s a lot of technical words, but let’s take a look at what they mean and how they’ll each help describe the HOCATT and its benefits.
Hyperthermic: The HOCATT is a sauna. Steam and far infrared rays heat up the body and raise core body temperature. This helps enhance the body’s processes, including the production of hormones and enzymes. The heat also opens pores and helps circulation, which is important for other components of the HOCATT.
Carbonic Acid: The first couple of minutes of your session, CO₂ enters the chamber and reacts with steam to create carbonic acid (CA). This helps increase blood flow throughout the body by up to 25%. It also draws more blood to the skin’s surface, which helps with the effects of transdermal ozone. We will talk about this next. Among the many benefits of carbonic acid is it also increases the uptake and delivery of oxygen at the cellular level.
Transdermal Ozone: After the carbonic acid cycle is finished, usually the first 3 minutes of the session, the ozone cycle starts. This cycle continues for the rest of the HOCATT session. The ozone reacts with the steam to form sterilizing H₂O₂ on the skin. This partially absorbs through the dilated pores. This can help inactivate viruses as well as bacterial, yeast and fungal infections. One of the main advantages of ozone is the boosting of energy at the cellular level and stimulating the body’s anti-oxidant system.
Another therapy within the sauna is LED light and colors. Different colors can have different health benefits, like sleep benefits, digestive issues, reducing inflammation, and much more.
